Adieu

Life is fleeting. But memories never die.Today I revisited my past again. Or rather the past revisted me again. The present reappears randomly as an elusive memory that evades my consciousness like a recurring dream. Drifting between the past and present, I am visited by the ghosts from the past.

Among the most frequently repeated phrases about suffering is that “time heals all wounds” or “this too shall pass.” Time passes. It does not heal. Time does not heal all wounds. Our hearts and minds just close against the pain with our anger, fear, resentment, and doubts inside.

The past is never dead. It isn’t even past.—William
Faulkner

Adieu

Like setting suns,

Or when works done,

Goodbye

Like dreams that pass,

In a way they last,

Adieu my love,

Adieu my love,

Adieu my love,

There’s nothing left unsaid but adieu my love

Time will pass,

Seeds turn to grass,

Carry on

Though times have changed,

Your memory still remains,

Adieu my love,

Adieu my love,

Adieu my love,

There’s nothing left unsaid but adieu my love

Our love has passed.

But in a perfect world we’d last

Long enough to never say goodbye,

My love,

Goodbye.

Adieu my love

Adieu my love

Adieu my love

There’s nothing left unsaid but adieu my love

The Persistence Of Memory

I see black and white. Why never anything in between? Everything in shades of grey. Never any blues or green. Is there any beauty that is waiting for me to be seen? Can anyone put the blue back in the sky? Can anyone put the rainbow in my eyes? A silver lining in my prayer? Can anyone put the red back in the rose? I wish to see colors everywhere, everywhere.

I need to leave the hazy days behind me. I need to see the beauty that is waiting there for me. Let me pack my heart and leave the memories behind. But how can you leave behind what lives in you? How do you shake off the the past? I can't forget that you told me so many promising lies. But I must try and forget these lonesome tears in my eyes. Help me leave the past in the past. Let me summon the pain to wash it out.

Someone cries but there's no one to hear
No more time in an endless day
No place to hide as the secrets unfold
No more time left to fade away

My life gone from view
Without love
Without you

Close your eyes for there's nothing to see
Only dreams hiding far away
No tears to cry now I'm left all alone
Only seems like another day

No one can hear me, a cry everlasting
Bridges of time hidden deep within earth
Not in this life is complete understanding
A feeling of hope and of peace within earth

Still waters run
Still waters run
Still waters run deep

Waiting alone there is no peace of mind
Only fear of another day
Lost in eternity no end in sight
Only dreams of another way

Look and hear me, a cry everlasting
A feeling of hope and of peace on this earth

Still waters run
Still waters run
Still waters run deep

A feeling of hope and of peace on this earth...

Still waters run
Still waters run
Still waters run deep
Still waters run
Still waters run
Still waters run deep
